The Clerk of Court’s Office serves as the official record keeper for the State and Magistrate Courts, maintaining accurate and secure records for all misdemeanor criminal and civil matters. Our office plays a vital role in supporting the judicial process through compliance with legal standards, transparent public access, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. We are responsible for: Managing and preserving all official court records and filings Filing of misdemeanor criminal and civil cases Ensuring compliance with state laws, court rules, and administrative procedures Providing timely and accurate access to court information for the public, legal professionals, and law enforcement Assisting the public with court-related services in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner Our mission is to uphold the integrity of the judicial system by delivering reliable recordkeeping, promoting public trust, and ensuring fair and efficient access to justice.
Division B has jurisdiction over the handling and disposition of certain traffic cases. Said division was created pursuant to HB 300 passed during the 2015 session of the Georgia General Assembly and signed into law by the Governor on March 3, 2015. Each Judge is selected in a county wide election and serves a four (4) year term.
Application for citations and warrants should be made at the Clerk’s Office located at Magistrate Court Criminal Division between the hours of 8:30 am to midnight seven (7) days a week.
Given the statewide State of Emergency and in accordance with the Judicial Emergency Order issued by DeKalb County Chief Superior Court Judge, Shondeana C. Morris, all courthouse divisions of DeKalb County State Court will be closed from Sunday, January 25, 2026, beginning at 8:00 am until Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 8:00 am when the Court will resume normal proceedings.

You must e-file your request. The pleading will be forwarded to the judicial case manager.
You can request a copy of the transcript with the Judge’s staff. Fees may apply.
● Obtain a Writ of Fieri Facias (Fi Fa) to record a lien or seize assets.
● Levy on property (see levy process).
● Garnish bank accounts or wages (see garnishment process).

File a Notice of Appeal and pay $25. Include case number and specify whether you are appealing to the Georgia Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court of Georgia.

The solicitor’s office accuses cases within two years of the arrest or citation. Therefore, the Clerk’s Office does not know when an accusation will be filed. Please contact the Solicitor’s Office (404) 371-2201
