Electronic Filing – Division B

Division B of the State Court of Dekalb County was created on July 1, 2015, and was excluded from the mandatory electronic filing requirements hat became effective in 2014 for Division A of the State Court of DeKalb County. In an attempt to provide all citizens of DeKalb County expanded access and fairness to the judicial process, Division B has implemented it’s own separate electronic filing platform. Division B’s electronic filing platform is not the same as the electronic filing platform used by Division A or the Superior Court of DeKalb County. Please use the link below to register for Division B’s e-filing platform.

Currently, Division B allows for the following forms to be filed electronically;

  1. Demand for a Jury Trial
  2. Entry of Appearance
  3. Leave of absence
  4. Motion for Continuance
  5. Notice of Conflict
  6. Waiver of Arraignment/Not Guilty Plea

The electronic filing system requires each attorney, law firm, or pro se litigant to create an e-file account by going to the following link and registering with the Court. Click here for e-File Registration.

Registration and Filing Instruction

  1. Click on the e-File Registration Link
  2. Click “Register” on the left side bar
  3. Fill out all information available and create your unique Password
  4. Select Submit
  5. Your registration will be reviewed and approved by the court within 1-2 business days. Once approved, you will be able to log in and submit your new filing
  1. Begin searching for your case by using a Name, Case Number, Citation Number, Vehicle Tag Number, or the Driver’s License Number.
  2. Under the E-file tab you will select “SUBMIT NEW
  3. Here you will select the Court type and the Case type.
  4. Under the Case Parties screen, you will provide the Defendant/ Plaintiffs’ information.
  5. Then select “Next document”.
  6. In the top right-hand corner, you will select “Add Document.”
  7. Select the document type then select Generate once the appropriate document has been selected.
  8. Fill out all required fields.
  9. Be sure to SAVE this document before leaving this screen.
  10. Once the document has been saved it will prompt you to REVIEW AND SUBMIT
  11. Now that you have reviewed the information you will then select SUBMIT.
  12. Upon submitting the document, you will receive a confirmation number.

Inclement Weather Announcement

Given the statewide State of Emergency and in accordance with the Judicial Emergency Order issued by DeKalb County Chief Superior Court Judge, Shondeana C. Morris, all courthouse divisions of DeKalb County State Court will be closed from Sunday, January 25, 2026, beginning at 8:00 am until Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 8:00 am when the Court will resume normal proceedings.

How can I check to see if I have a bench warrant?

You must go to the DeKalb County Jail with a State issued ID to inquire about an active warrant.

How do I change my court date?

You must e-file your request. The pleading will be forwarded to the judicial case manager.

How do I get a copy of the transcript in my case?

You can request a copy of the transcript with the Judge’s staff. Fees may apply.

How do I collect my judgment?

● Obtain a Writ of Fieri Facias (Fi Fa) to record a lien or seize assets.
● Levy on property (see levy process).
● Garnish bank accounts or wages (see garnishment process).

How do I file a Motion for a misdemeanor case?

You must compose your own motions and file them with the clerk’s office or via e-file. Resources: Law Library (4th floor), attorneys, Legal Aid, or DeKalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.

How do I update my address?

How do I change my court date?

How do I appeal a sentence?

File a Notice of Appeal and pay $25. Include case number and specify whether you are appealing to the Georgia Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court of Georgia.

How do I put out a warrant on someone?

How do I get my personal belongings back after arrest?

How long does it take for my case to be accused?

The solicitor’s office accuses cases within two years of the arrest or citation. Therefore, the Clerk’s Office does not know when an accusation will be filed. Please contact the Solicitor’s Office (404) 371-2201
